Assistance With Household Chores and Daily Tasks

Do you need some help with household chores?

Home Help makes life a little easier.

We help with the daily chores, tasks and errands. For full details and costs just give us a call.

This program assists clients who are not eligible for CCAC services but need help with routine housekeeping and home maintenance activities.

Services are customized to meet your needs and can include:

  • cleaning kitchen
  • cleaning bathrooms
  • light meal preparation
  • window cleaning
  • dusting
  • cleaning appliances
  • cleaning walls
  • letter-writing
  • running errands 
  • laundry
  • ironing  … and more

Home Help provides workers that can help clients with chores, tasks and errands that may be difficult for them to complete on their own. Any task, small or large, can be done working with the client's schedule and preferences.

  • Plans are individualized to suit client's needs.
  • We offer and make every effort to work within the client's time requirements.
  • We offer regularly scheduled service times: daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly.
  • One-time cleaning services are also available for those times when life gets too busy to fit in house cleaning.
  • Seasonal and special occasion cleaning is also available.

Home Help is available to seniors and adults with disabilities in Huron and Perth County.

Home Help Services include:

  • Light House Cleaning: Bathrooms, kitchens, dusting, sweeping/mopping, vacuuming, dishes, emptying garbage, recycling. Please note the client provides the cleaning supplies.
  • Heavy Cleaning/Home Maintenance: Spring and Fall cleaning, windows (inside), curtain cleaning, organizing and cleaning of cupboards and closets.
  • Yard Work: Raking leaves, garden clean up/maintenance, hedge trimming, planting. Client must supply equipment and/or tools.
  • Seasonal House Cleaning: Home Help Workers can help our clients get ready for any holiday. We can help decorate, prepare meals, and do any last minute cleaning. Our workers can also assist after the holiday to re-organize and clean the client's home.
  • Laundry: Laundry can be done in client's home or taken to laundry mats. If the laundry is taken to the laundry mat a trip fee will apply and the client is required to supply change for the machines. Laundry products must be supplied by the client.
  • Grocery Shopping: Home Help Workers can help clients prepare a shopping list, do the client's shopping and assist with bringing groceries into the house and putting them away. A trip fee applies (3 stops per trip) and clients must supply cash or gift cards to purchase the groceries.
  • Meal Preparation: Home Help Workers can prepare light meals, hot meals and/or meals to be re-heated or frozen. The client must provide the required food and supplies.
  • Companion/Respite Care: Provides social visits to clients who spend most of their days alone. Activities can include reading, going for walks, encouraging clients to complete activities of daily living and/or ensuring a client eats their meals.
  • Escort to Appointments: Home Help Workers can drive clients to appointments and wait with them. The worker will also stop at the pharmacy afterward. A trip fee applies and workers cannot assist with personal are or take medical information.
  • Errands: Home Help Workers can take the clients to run errands or do the tasks for the client. Some stops may include: post office, pharmacy, bank (client must be present), restaurant take out. A trip fee applies (3 stops per trip).

The Home Help program employs qualified and caring workers to make our clients' homes safe and comfortable. All of our Home Help Workers have completed a Criminal Reference Check and are trained in CPR and First Aid.
